Abstract

In the current agile and rapidly changing world of businesses, adaptive, intelligent timekeeping systems are more badly needed than ever before, particularly considering the fact that the workforce is becoming more and more diverse and where the workers' scope of work across the teams is increased and largely changed. Traditional timekeeping frameworks, which are usually defined by the positions and scheduled hours and the like, are far from providing real support for correct representation of the new work type with many faces. These obsolete systems can be a cause of not getting correct figures for accountability, misrepresentation of productivity as well as of role assignment and poor exchanges between the departments of the company, all of which diminish collaboration and efficiency. The document presents a variant of a flexible timekeeping construct meant for multi-role and hybrid workers and discusses the unreachable goals of this new methodology. This new idea is mainly based on the time the person spends at work, and has got the following parts: the process which guarantees that the right role of the person is always known at all times, closing task tagging, and the person can by himself/herself account for the time he/she stayed and the work he/she has done. Therefore, instead of merely pinning workers to just one role, the system profits by automatically associating their time with roles and having that time production reflected as their outputs, thus, their previous job is now the groundwork for new roles. The proposed system can also be interfaced with the project management and HR systems, thereby, creating an ecosystem that is harmonious and gives support to strategic and operational issues in addition to being integrated itself. Not only are there a variety of advantages, which arise from the above situations, but it is also clear that they are immediate and forward-looking benefits. Transparency across functions is also increased, as more detailed information is now accessible and hence, the (cross-)(inter-) and (within the organization) collaboration will now play a leading role in the distribution of the company's time and dependencies. By embracing a more complex and rather accommodating manner of keeping time, agile businesses gain flexibility and adaptability in recruiting human capital to suit their upcoming projects and business trends in such a way that their workforce is more easily recognized, employed, and can be optimized in the way they do.
